Q. How am I contacted when I place a hold on a book?

A list of all items that are placed on hold is generated every 24 hours and sent to the library staff.  Library staff print the hold notices once a day and the books are retrieved from the shelve.  

Once the item is retrieved, library staff place the item on the holdshelf and send out a pick up notice to the patron.  

The holdshelf is located at the circulation desk in the Jackson library.  The item is not checked out to the patron until it is retrieved from the holdshelf.  Items that are not checked out by the pickup date are removed from the holdshelf and returned to the circulating collection.
